The quickest trip home ever
We just got back from Detroit/DC. Holy crap did we cram it in. I have a migraine and one weirdly bloodshot eye but it was worth it.
We took a 6am flight to Detroit, then went straight to dinner with my grampa, home to bed, then up early the next morning and on to DC. There we went to the spy museum (awesome) and ice skated with my niece. We also had a little mini Christmas, I bought my niece a tea set, everyone painted part of it and the next morning before leaving we had a mini tea party. Then back to Detroit and pretty much straight to bed. The last day I got to have breakfast with my Grampa, lunch with Lo, and dinner with my 2 favorite A's. Then home on another 6am flight! We did not even take our camera our of the bag so this is all I have

Short Bread
I made shortbread yesterday and it was amazing! The whole house smelled like butter. I followed this recipe by Martha Stewart. With out the chocolate of course. YUCK! My only after thought is that it could have used more butter

yummy flatbread
I made this flatbread for a party a while back and it was a big hit. what is the difference between this and a pizza? Well friend... it depends how you define a pizza. To me a pizza must have sauce.
Anyways this flatbread is yummy and the caramelized onions really get a fire going in peoples pants let me tell you . To really do it right you need to cook these onions on low heat in some oil , then after a minute or two sprinkle sugar over the pan. Let it brown a little then turn over , while scraping all the gooey crusty goodness up.
Spread the onions on top of some store bought nann or pita then top with goat cheese and fresh basil. Bake at 350 for about 10 minn but be sure to check on that basil you do not want it to char. eat it up!
